Veganism

When are we going to eat? What are we going to eat? Where are we going to eat? The questions continue, but why is nobody asking how the food arrives to our plate and what ingredients are sourced humanly. The food we consume not only has one of the biggest impacts on our lifestyle and health, but determines the value of a life. That’s right. Every day you make the decision to kill an animal for the satisfaction of your own taste buds. The sad reality is that most people are not educated on the malicious and torturous ways of animal slaughter and abuse. Slaughtering-of-cows-for-parties

This is where your food comes from. Slaughter houses that tie cows by their legs, hang the upside down, and slit their throats. Now image that is your beloved pet dog or cat, “but they’re not the same” people exclaim. Yet in fact cows are very intelligent animals. They can understand the fact they are about to be killed, they have emotions and can cry. They also mourn the death of others, which is why they will cry out for days after their baby calf is torn from them to be sourced for our own benefit. People need to be educated on where their food comes from because very little people out their know exactly how their food arrived on their plate.

Going vegan is the best decision for the sake of your health, the environment, and to save animals lives. Every day a vegan saves 1100 gallons of water, 45 pounds of grain, 30 square feet of forest, 20 pounds of CO2, and one animals life. There is also a misconception that animal products like dairy are good for you or are sourced humanly, but both of those are not true. Much research has been done on the health benefits of veganism, including a statistic for the physicians committee that states, “For each glass of milk consumed, your risk of dying from all causes increases by 15 percent”. That’s right, being vegan isn’t just about the animals, it is about your health. Vegetarians and vegans live, on average, six to ten years longer than meat eaters, and meat eaters are twice as likely to develop heart disease. With all of this taken into consideration, going vegan is the best thing you could do for your body and others.

Spreading the word is vital to ending animal torture and slaughter. The negative connotation surrounding veganism needs to end. It is possible to eat a healthy balanced diet without bringing harm to any living being. People are brought up eating meat and learning they need their protein or calcium, but in actuality meat and dairy products are the reason we develop so many illnesses. Overall the vegan diet is the best thing you could do for yourself and spreading the word can save animals lives. CMJwCkVUsAA4ORO
